A collection with a dominating personality. Everything is from the inside out, the feeling of being spoken to, or at, or by. Poems are blocks of conversational style, too worked to be transcripts, too delivered to be a stream. Reading this over a relatively short time, going through several of the poems one after the next led to a bobbing effect, where certain themes would resurface, the rolling intermittent lucidities of speech. I swapped my point of view constantly, being the secret eavesdropper, the attentive listener, the nodding recipient. Works very well as a collection, the consistent style creating a very absorbing hypnotic feel, like brainwashing yourself.… (altro)
