Austrian Philosophy: The Legacy of Franz Brentano di Barry Smith

An amazingly thorough survey of the Franz Brentano and his influence on central European philosophy. Though by no means light reading, it is a breeze compared to most of the writers covered (many of them, such as Meinong, bad writers if good philosophers). Smith has a sure grasp of the complexities of continental philosophy, and has extremely perceptive things to say on mereology and value theory. Including a discussion of the Austrian School of Economics helps the book out immensely. Highly recommended.… (altro)
