So, I'm not into kink, but in reading so much romance over the last few years, I've read more than I ever meant to. One thing I've noticed some authors do is over-explain, over-analyze, and/or over-justify everything about kinks. Whatever they are, doesn't seem to matter. There is rarely need for that. Readers will enjoy it, on one or more levels, or they won't.

Horne didn't explain. This is a pretty fucked-up relationship. "Romance" isn't the word for it yet. But the BDSM? What they do requires no explanations or justifications beyond what the characters feel and what they discuss (beg for, demand). That's all we get. And it's perfect. It is refreshing to be trusted as a reader to pick up what the author is laying down, and I loved that.… (altro)
