This was a beautiful blending of different practices, all presented in an easy-to-read format, that you can easily apply to your everyday life. The exercises are easy to do, and really help translate what you read into real life, and prepare you to incorporate everything into your everyday life. It's clear that years of study, wisdom, and lived experience went into writing this, and I'm grateful I'll be working what I've learned into my life and relationships. I can say I already feel more confident about moving forward on this new path. If you're looking for a new approach to life and love, then this is a book you don't want to miss!… (altro)

She compares and contrasts Jewish and Zen teachings and practices. She explains how and why she can integrate the two in her life.

I have found a precious jewel in this book, but, if you have fundamental religious beliefs that you don't want challenged, this will not be the book for you. This would be a pity because, despite the heavy leaning to Buddhist philosophy, this is a book which invites a new way of being at peace even within your own beliefs.

Although some of the truisms and anecdotes are not particularly original to me (the two wolves stories, 'change is not loss, it's merely change'), they're the type of motivation which can bear repeating. In addition, this book is well structured, making the reading easy and the exercises (which are very practical) accessible.

Never judgemental, always infused with a gentle compassion for our human foibles (and an ability to laugh at the mistakes of her own journey) Shoshanna has a contemporary writing style that offers ancient wisdom in a way that helps one apply it to our modern lives.

I've been consciously practising some of the exercises since I finished the book and I've noticed how they do bring peace and an inner calm when my mind becomes restless with worry.

This book can be a life changing book if you're tired of feeling overwhelmed by negativity and fear, your own and others. I'm keeping my copy because I intend to dip into it time and time again, until the 7 principles of peace of mind become an every day part of my ordinary life. I've also ordered some difficult to get hold of copies for my family members!

Well structured and written in an easy style, this is a useful book dealing with the hidden ways anger affects our lives. Each chapter consists of an explanation of the a specific type of anger and real life examples, and ends with practical exercises to help work through anger. Interspersed with the chapters are exercises to help one reflect and review where and how anger sneaks into our psyche.

As is the norm with "self-help" books, this book will only be as good as the reader allows it to be - the exercises need to be answered honestly to be effective(no one else is going to read your answers, right?) Because of this it's not a quick read, but it's interesting and does provide insight into the many forms anger can disguise itself as in our every day lives. The comments and exercise on forgiveness were very good.

Knowledge is power and knowing how anger works in our lives can only be beneficial to ourselves and our relationships - this book makes that knowledge accessible and real.

An excellent read if you're experiencing anger or are a victim of anger.
