Susan Sherbert has written a book about how children behave and how you can link this child with the adult you are. She describes how children don't hold grudges, have fun and go play. She tells how this applies to you.

To be honest, I have read the book three times and come up with the same conclusions. First she differentiates between fun and entertainment. Children make things for fun, destroy them and start over. They play and skip; they are happy. Fun is not watching a Great Courses DVD - it is entertainment. Fun is not stitching or crocheting a beautiful item for a gift - you need to be willing to destroy it and start over. And listening to a concert is not fun. Here is where I must differ. Learning is fun, even to children if not to Ms. Sherbert. Music in any form is fun, even if the ability to play a musical instrument is no longer present. Making items is fun and giving even more fun. The author has missed the point. Some of us can no longer skip but we can participate in life.

Even though this is a self-help book, there is no bibliography nor is any research cited, a fault that needs to be rectified. Also the editing is non-existent. There are commas where they don't belong and commas are missing where they are desperately needed. And there are grammatical errors that should have been caught as well as words that are misused.

This is a valuable subject and one that needs to be heard; I hope that there will be a corrected edition with errors eliminated and scholarly citations given. Until that point, read with caution.

This is a fast fun read. In this day and age where as adults we worry about everything from health to money this book just reminds us that it's ok to let loose and have some fun. Even if you are a kid at heart you will enjoy reading this book. I received this from LibraryThing Member Giveaway for an honest review.
