Il s'agit par définition de cette force qui vit et agit dans toute matière créée. Ce mot associe deux termes : la syllabe Rei qui renvoie à la nature universelle et illimitée de l'énergie, alors que la syllabe Ki donne l'idée de l'énergie vitale qui traverse tout être vivant. Nombreuses sont les races, les cultures et les religions qui ont pris connaissance de l'existence d'une énergie que le terme Ki recouvre. Ainsi, le Ki prend le nom de Chi en chine, Prana chez les Hindous, Mana chez les Kahunas, c'est l’énergie bioplasmique pour certains chercheurs russes. Il est, en outre, tout à fait concevable que : le Téléme d'Hermès Trismégiste, le Ka des Egyptiens, le Pneuma des Grecs, la Baraca des Soufis, le fluide de la vie des alchimistes, le Gésod des Juifs de la cabale, l'élan vital de Bergson, le pouvoir guérisseur de la nature d'Hippocrate, l’Orgon de Wilhem Reich, le Wakaouda des Sioux etc… renvoient tous à la même énergie fondamentale bien que l'étendue et les théories auxquelles ces termes font allusion, diffèrent considérablement.

One of the all time classic Reiki books from the early days of the practice in the West. The history of Reiki is way-off beam now as a consequence of later research, but still, this is a must read book!
