Not a bad little story - some parts are quite funny. Stix and his mates have their own garage band but idealize the current "next biggest thing" The Screaming Greenie Meanies. When the band comes to town, he and his mates have tickets to their concert and decided to spray their hair green for fun. When it is Stix' turn the cans run out and so he uses food dye instead! Unfortunately for him, food dye doesn't wash out and stix gets into all sorts of trouble at school until, in desperation, his mother has his head shaven only to discover that his scalp is green underneath! This makes him an absolute legend at school but he just wants to be the old Stix until his friends come up with an idea to use his new look to their advantage.

Paddy's class are given a very unusual task by their teacher Mr Farnham (Fartem) in that they must look after an egg for a week, keeping it with them at all times and writing a diary about it. At first Paddy is sceptical but he soon discovers that he and his mate Jackal can make a great deal of money, babysitting the eggs while kids have swim class, etc and repairing ones that get cracks or are broken. However, Paddy's biggest problem is the local school bully who takes great delight in threatening to commit "eggacide" if the students don't hand over their lunch money, etc. Can Paddy avoid him or will Nog succumb to the bully's attack. A novel with every egg pun you can think of and with a weak ending (I think). This is also very similar in concept to Flour Babies by Anne Fine.… (altro)
