Adolf Schlatter (1852–1938)

Adolf Schlatter was born August 16, 1852, in St. Gallen, Switzerland. He died May 19, 1938, in Tubingen, Germany, at the inception of the Second World War. His teaching career spanned more than forty years, with his most mature years spent at Tubingen. In an age when liberal scholarship carried the mostra altro day, Schlatter stood firm in his advocacy of a conservative approach to biblical interpretation and theology.
