The dialog the author has internally matched my own early look into the meme of psychology, against one of a more spiritual nature. I would guess that this is an accurate portrayal of this psychologists meeting with a person exhibiting phenomena not unlike Christ.

The internal quest is not glorified, and his way of communicating is clear and honest. A person who found his chosen field in psychology satisfactory, for a time, he eventually found a need to investigate the eastern way, it is a book for those who would wish to explore more in this area. I have experienced the psychological "therapy" process as client, and having already investigated religions, the paranormal, and spirit whence I entered those rooms as a youth, I found the field was sorely lacking in a solid way to produce effective, internal healing.

Samuel Sandweiss M.D., being a doctor who found his field lacking and then taking a skeptical look into the world of spirit, interested me greatly. This book is well worth reading.

Going into his investigation as a skeptic, this man was rocked absolutely by the phenomena that Sai Baba was able to produce in himself, and others. The author claims Sai Baba is a Christ for our times. I do not doubt that he can produce miracles.

If you would like to read more about the types of miraculous things going on in the Eastern Religions, I suggest that this book may well be a good enough starting point.
Brief letters home to a wife and children make the journey a bit more like a memoir, the remainder is basically just his experiential facts. He is not a writer, but an explorer into Sai Baba, and his teachings so...I wouldn't say he has a flair for writing, but then, so many don't have it and they have been trained in the field. It is totally acceptable to me that his writing isn't terribly "skilled" or very poetic, and yet the subject matter overtakes all of that, ending in a great story to be told. Sometimes it isn't in the telling, but in the tale, that we are enthralled.
