J. Pilant Sanders (1906–2002)

Gospel preacher listed in Preachers of Today, Vol. 1, 1952, 299. He was baptized by A. R. Holton in 1918. He began preaching in Ft. Worth, TX in 1924. He served as dean of David Lipscomb College.

Minister, educator, journalist. He spoke on the 7th Annual Bible Lectureship at Freed-Hardeman College in January 1943. Sanders was born in Fort Worth, Texas. He was baptized by A.R. Holton. Sanders attended Texas Christian University, Vanderbilt University, and earned his doctorate at the University of Southern California. Sanders is an effective preacher and teacher. He has served as president of Columbia Christian College and dean at Lipscomb and Pepperdine universities. He was the founding editor of 20th Century Christian, which began in 1938 as a magazine for college students produced by college students.
