The 47 cartoonists featured in this book have been chosen from different fields of art. Their illustrative styles, page layout, use of light and shadow and perspective, each one unique; tell a story and set a different pace.
Although most of the artists here are only given two or four pages to demonstrate their work, it focuses on the creative process itself.
From the comic humour of R. Sikoryak; to the gritty realism of Jim Steranko. The 60's underground style of Ben Brown, to the Marvel universe of Michael Golden.
Many of the artists in this book I'd never even heard of! But, they are all at the top of their fields (I checked a handful of the lesser known ones out for myself via a quick .net search).
I thank this book for introducing me to so many new comic book artists, and allowing me to gain a little insight into the way their minds work.
