A young girl is saddened that her grandmother can no longer do the things that she use to. When she understands that she's sick, she helps to the best to her ability.

The main character is a young girl named Sachiko, she is frustrated that her Grandmother is no longer giving her love and attention like she used to. When her grandmother expresses to Sachiko that she feels as though she is only a young girl, Sachiko agrees to walk with her to her home – Sachiko then comes to the realization that her grandmother isn’t trying to be mean, she truly cannot remember anything beyond age five. Sachiko then introduces herself and her father to her grandmother, showers her with love and affection and the family returns home.
This story describes the emotional and social struggles that a child may have when a loved one develops a memory disease, such as Alzheimer’s disease. Through the modeling of positive interaction and appropriate interactions, a child may learn new social and emotional strategies to help themselves, and their loved ones, work through this difficult time.

At first, Sachiko cannot understand why her grandmother was acting differently every time she sees her. Her grandmother cannot recognized Sachiko and kept on telling her that Sachiko is not her granddaughter. After she found out that her grandmother lost her memories, she started to comfort and take good care of her.

This is a story about a young girl named Sachiko. She is named after who grandmother Sachiko who is living with them and has dementia. This is the story of how Sachiko comes to term with her grandmothers illness and how she learns to accept it and help her grandmother.
