Let Me Love You by Brittney Sahin
The Costa Family #1

Excellent introduction to a new series and a joy to become acquainted to with a new author that could easily be one of my go-to reads in the future! I was up till 1:30 this morning finishing it and can’t wait to find another book to read by this author!

What I liked:
* The connection and chemistry between Enzo and Maria
* The slow burn after the sizzling first kiss – so much promise
* Maria’s knowing what she wanted and ability to state what she wanted even though it wasn’t necessarily acted on as quickly as it could have been
* Enzo’s inner turmoil that had to be overcome before he and Maria could be together
* The backstories of both families that unfolded over the book’s telling and the impact of “family” on the characters, their relationships, and who they may end up with
* The presence of so many alpha males and their female equivalents that may have already had their stories told or have stories waiting to be told
* The tie-ins between culinary knife skills and other skills knives can be used for
* The plot, pacing, setting, and writing - exquisite
* The darkness that was evident at times…the good guy didn’t wear a white hat all the time even though he was a good guy in spite of some things he (and his family) had done
* That it left me guessing and as a person who often reads the end of a book first…that is saying something
* That I came into this series on book one and can follow the series chronologically
* You know what? I loved all of it except…

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* One or two characters that I will not name because…it could ruin the story for you – that said…was REALLY happy they were made accountable for what they did

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series/by this author? Definitely!

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC – This is my honest review.

Savanna lost her husband on national T.V. to terrorists killing him. She's lived in agony ever since, not trusting, living in fairy tale romances, and closing herself off from relationships. Most of her friends are military and this book combines different teams from other books which I have not read but didn't take away from the story. Her thief of a brother-in-law, whom she has only met once, unwittingly endangers her life and her friends step in to protect her bringing with them their contacts of elite security retired Delta guys. Surveilling to see shy Savanna's life is in danger she's paired with Griffin who is as haunted as Savanna is. Instant attraction to each other, which surprises them both, has them scrambling to wonder if they will ever be able to be in a relationship due to the emotional baggage they carry and will Savanna ever let go of her deceased husband and will Griffin ever trust? While exploring that, the danger, intrigue, and threats on her life have the entire team trying to keep her safe and eliminate the threats to national security.… (altro)

This was an interesting start to this series. It had a decent amount of suspense mixed in with a bit of insta love. This is a group of people who should keep all personal contacts at a minimum. But it'll be interesting to watch all the guys find love. In this book, Luke and Eva were a good pair. I enjoyed watching them fall in love. I enjoyed meeting the rest of the team and look forward to their upcoming books.

The first book in this series was pretty good. This second book was even better. I loved Owen and Samantha’s story. Owen and Samantha meets by chance (or so he thinks) while on vacation in Mexico. But Samantha has tracked Owen down because of a shared tragedy in their past. The two pretty much instantly fall for each other either though neither of them are in the position for a romance. As it turns out, the two of them are connected and both drawn into a new case that turns out to be related to their shared past tragedy. Owen and Samantha fall more and more for each other even though they both try to deny their feelings. Because feelings for Owen are dangerous. But when both of their lives end up on the line, it is then that they both realize they don’t want to lose what they have. This book is filled with romance and drama and action and keeps you on your toes to the very end.… (altro)
