This is the book that helped me through my literary studies. It is clear, concise and *straight to the point*. Because it was printed in the 1990s, some words or notions may not have been included, but most of the words I searched in my undergraduate courses were fine and available. What's more, it integrates *linguistics* vocabulary, something that is usually missing in other literature dictionaries. Compared with my Penguin 'Cuddon' doorstopper, this book has been my first point of call for searches, and the Cuddon one, the second. In a way, this book's short entries were easier to understand (than the bigger dictionnary's ones) because the definitions were always in plain English, so the easier I understood the notions, the better would be the grades. This is an essential book for every language and literary library, great as a reference tool for undergraduates too.… (altro)
