I was given this book as an ARC for review. This is such a different view of shifters or Kindred, of good, bad and just evil. The second book is about Nuala the daughter of the high ranking Kindred and Ethan a good cop. Both were in the first book of the series and now it continues with Nuala that is pregnant with Shades baby. Shade was a police officer and part "Powers" that died in the first book where his twin sister was one of the main characters. We still see Luc and Skye in this book but not as much. I really feel.that they should have more Skye and Luc in the story as Skye is the keeper of the Book of Powers and is supposed to keep evil in check. Still a great book all in all.… (altro)

Obsession by Patricia Rosemoor

Fast paced easy to read romantic suspense with a second chance for Camille and Drago to get it right. This story includes abduction, murder, abuse, steamy moments and more as Camille and Drago work together to find Sandy – a 14 year old kidnapping victim. I had trouble seeing the connection between the two main characters. After a hot weekend together and nothing for four years they fell back in with one another very easily. I lso had trouble seeing Camille as a “good” detective in the ways she was portrayed in the story. The story was okay and a quick easy read but I felt there was either backstory I was missing or perhaps this is part of a series that might provide more information had I read it already.

Heroine Aileen McKenna goes to Wolf Creek, Wisconsin, to study wolves and to write her thesis (she is interested in wildlife ecology). She is also there to spend some time with her family for Christmas. Aileen meets hero Rhys Lindgren and she feels like she has a connection with him. Rhys keeps to himself, and is known as a wolf man because of his love for wolves. He lives in a cabin in the woods with his father. There have been some murders/deaths recently and many people are blaming the wolves. Who, or what could be behind the killings?

I thoroughly enjoyed this story! I really liked the setting... the woods, the wolves, the small town with its interesting cast of characters. The story took place around Christmas, which was nice to read at this time of year. I liked Aileen, she was a good heroine. She had something in her past that she couldn't remember, but being in Wolf Creek started to bring the memories back. Rhys was a mysterious hero. He was a shape shifter who turned into a wolf. Aileen and Rhys made a great couple.

A very compelling, fast-paced romantic suspense by Patricia Rosemoor.

This story starts out with Melody and she's late again to work at the hospital.
Her job is usually to aide the surgeons and she has a full life with her jobs. The night job is to waitress at the restaurant so she can help pay for her neighbor's medical bills.
The woman on the first floor of their house would look after Stella and the dog when Melody was working. She's now ill and undergoing tests.
Alden the doctor wants to reprimand her but he's in love with her and also can't justify a raise for her.
He follows her home one day to find out just why she's so late to work and she finally opens up to him. He has a plan and implements it to everyone's satisfaction.
The surrogate grandmother has many secrets and they are told while under recovering from brain surgery, just bits and pieces and they don't much to Melanie...
Alden treasures Melody's work and her family and they become more than friends...
Something has to come to the forefront or they will never survive with one another.
Really found this story heartbreaking at times and sad because of all the turmoil and then again it's happy moment and wonderful children's remarks that grab at your heart.
Love the ending, didn't see it coming. Other works by the author are highlighted at the end and a note from the author is enclosed.
