When she Was Good. Michael Robotham. 2021. I have read several books by this author, but this is the first one in this series. Forensic psychologist Cyrus Haven is seeing a young woman, “Evie,” who was found hidden in a wall in a deserted house along with a dead body. She refused to talk about anything related to her past or give her real name. She is terrified, and Haven knows he has to learn about her history to help her. This is a wonderfully suspenseful novel full of plot twists. I am glad Janet rediscovered Robotham and hope to read more by him. Very violent.… (altro)

In this fourth book of the Joseph O'Loughlin series, Joe becomes involved in the case in which his daughter Charlie's best friend is accused of killing her father. Sienna Hegarty is a 14-year-old girl who shows up covered with blood on the night that her father, celebrated police officer Ray Hegarty is killed at home. This is another well-written story with many twists and turns, as the reader learns more of the character of Joe O'Loughlin, a clinical psychologist who happens to have Parkinson's disease. The writing is such a joy to read.… (altro)

The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham is a gut wrenching bang up novel told from the view point of two “pregnant” women. The suspense builds as each chapter wraps its head around these fully developed women with brave flaws. It is rare to have such an immensely satisfying, cathartic and brilliant ending within this thriller genre. Hats off to this Australian author.
