This is an excellent read for those seeking a more enlightened life. It is full of motivational methods, techniques, tips, resources and stories to help you on your spiritual path. At the end of each chapter is a lessons learned and questions to ponder section, which I found quite helpful.

An entertaining and informative introduction to a spiritual journey, I enjoyed this work more than I thought I would. Let's face it, for many readers, this topic can be written more like a textbook that you may not finish, or so forceful, that it can be borderline offensive. Not so with this book. It's thoughtful, thorough, and is told in a way that keeps you interested. I may have skimmed through one chapter, but overall, this book is well-written and worth a read if you're interested in the subject matter.

This is not a book about awakening as I understand it, i.e. grasping the illusion. Like most other spiritual literature, it is about creating a nicer dream.
Jonathan Robinson talks about letting go a lot, but he stops halfway down the road. Letting go of everything means letting go of the path, too, letting go of enlightenment, spirituality and everything connected with it. Instead, he literally clings to all that, even shows the reader numerous reasons why they might not be ready for enlightenment yet. Numerous excuses why it can't happen now, first this must be done, and this, and that, and don't forget all the rest!
I could hear Maya chuckle on nearly every page of this book.
But then again, why not? This is a wonderful example of ego at play, and why not let it? Actually awakening from the illusion is boring and yields not a single benefit for the person who understands. Enlightenment within the dream, though, is a wonderful goal to run for, it provides meaning, significance, and a purpose in life. Better stay there.

I found this book useful at every turn. It is an easy, helpful read for beginners, and for the more intermediate or advanced practitioner, it is excellent at putting words and facts to the concepts. This is an effective work to bridge from the contemplative community to the mainstream!
