The author used OR reports combined with journals and diaries to combine to give a personal experience to each of the battles and how the men of the 6th Kentucky felt and reacted to their battle experiences. The 6th Kentucky was a part of Hazen's division and experienced over 30% casuality rates. The regiment also had two full companies of German soldiers from the Louisville area. Since there were very few Kentucky regimental histories written after the war the authors books fills a gap in recorded history.… (altro)
