Wrapper: 40 Possible City Surfaces for the Museum of… di Mary-Ann Ray
As much as I'm a fan of books about buildings, this one on Studio Works' design for the Museum of Jurassic Technology in Culver City is something of an anomaly. The project – the renovation of a facade for the MJT – was never built, and the book consists of 40 schemes for the facade, making the book a document of a working process, rather than a document of a building. Each scheme is given one page in the skinny book, with most collages of found images explained with some text. The whole is reminiscent of Douglas Darden and is like peering into Mangurian and Ray's sketchbooks.… (altro)
Entirely unique works for the surface of a great museum by two of the most amazing architecture professors.
