 UPDATED INFO: Avid Poetry Series: Claudia Rankine and Lindsay Tigue The December installment of the Avid Poetry Series will take place on December 5, 2014, at 7:00pm at Cine in downtown Athens featuring Claudia Rankine and Lindsay Tigue. There is no admission charge. Claudia Rankine is the author of four previous books, including Don't let me be lonely: An American Lyric. She currently serves as a chancellor of the Academy of American Poets and teaches at Pomona College. Most recently, she was shortlisted for the National Book Award for Poetry.
Lindsay Tigue's writing has appeared, or is forthcoming, in Blackbird, Prairie Schooner, Indiana Review, CutBank, and Passages North, among others. She was a 2013 Tennessee Williams Scholar at the Sewanee Writers' Conference and a 2012 winner of the Indiana Review 1/2 K Award. She recently finished the MFA program in Creative Writing and Environment at Iowa State University and began the PhD program in Creative Writing at the University of Georgia.
