Chef and author Jamie Purviance earned degrees from Stanford University and the Culinary Institute of America. His work has appeared in Bon Appétit, the Los Angeles Times Magazine, and Town & Country. He is the author of Weber's Art of the Grill and co-author of Weber's Big Book of Grilling with mostra altro Sandra S. McRae, both best-selling cookbooks. He has been a guest chef at the James Beard House in New York City, and he frequently travels the country to teach at cooking schools such as Johnson & Wales University and Sur La Table. He has been certified by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, and he serves as a judge at major competitions such as the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational. Purviance has been featured on many television shows-including NBC's "Today," CBS's "Early Show," and "The Oprah Winfrey Show." He is also the author of Weber's Real Grilling, a groundbreaking new cookbook that features a full-color photograph with each of the 200-plus recipes and step-by-step photography for essential grilling techniques. In 2014 his title Weber's Big Book of Burgers: The Ultimate Guide to Grilling Incredible Burgers and Other Backyard Classics made The New York Times Best Seller List. I borrowed this from the library to see if we should buy it. Money saved!

There are reasons why earlier grill books did certain things in the kitchen. Insisting that everything has to be cooked on the grill just ends up taking longer and more complicated. Of course, complicated isn't a problem for this book. Many recipes seem to try to prove how complicated grilling can get. Probably to justify the sale of an expensive big gas grill.

BTW, I was very disappointed in the 'Remix' recipes. Making a totally new recipe with one or two of the ingredients can hardly be said to be a reworking of the old recipe.… (altro)

I love burgers and trying new recipes. While the (rumored) arrival of summer is bound to make most all of us happy, trying nearly all of this title's beef recipes will further sweeten the deal for me. Also included are recipes for bison, lamb, pork, poultry, seafood, and vegetarian burgers, as well as condiments and sides.

Good innovative ideas for grilling...taking grilling to the next level of "cookery". These recipes are not just for "dad" & the BBQ gang any longer, they are for the serious cook.
