This little collection of church signs runs the gamut from the spiritual to pure humor. Some are right to the point about salvation, while others just give you a poke in the right direction. With just a few words for each sign, the sayings manage to be quite inspirational while still being entertaining. This book could be used as a reference book for signage. There’s one I’d like to see on my own church sign, considering the COVID-19 closure we recently ended: “Now open between Easter and Christmas”!… (altro)

I bought this little book in a cute, out-of-the-way bookstore in Carmel-by-the-Sea. While it was fun to read and I enjoyed the quotations and the pictures, which were beautiful, I was hoping for a little more in-depth guide to forest bathing. Perhaps because it was compiled by a publishing company and does not list a specific author, it comes across as a bit superficial. It’s redeeming grace, however, occurs in its ability to invoke personal memories of moments spent among trees while forest-bathing. That alone is worth the purchase of the book.… (altro)
