A strange, beautiful tale. I imagine much has been lost in translation, but it's still a fantastic story.

This book presents Hinduism from its beginnings and origination, to the ways Hindu people live. The photos in the book represent children and adults practicing and participating in festivals revolving around the Hindu believes. This was an informational book on a religion other than Christian. I look forward to reading more on other cultures believes and customs.

The new century began with a blaring alarm, triggered by very real concerns about the environment. A race for increased consumption, coupled with a population explosion, is straining the limits of our sustainability on earth. Vedic Ecology offers insightful advice from an unexpected source, ancient Vedic literature.
The perspective on Mother Earth and our duty to protect her, put forth by the Vedas, is being applied by contemporary environmental activists and thinkers today. Prime interviews several of them, notably scientist Vandana Shiva and Anil Agarwal, director of the Center for Science and Development in India. He also contributes his own conclusions about high thinking and simple living. Sacred stories, poetry and art, coupled with these words, make a profound statement about what the Vedas have to teach us about the environment.

This is a timely work addressing current trends in Hindu environmentalism based on very recent interviews of high profile thinkers and activists.
