Her body of work, often under the pseudonyms of Anne Cherryholmes or Barbara West, included picture books, radio plays, and biographies, as well as historical novels for young readers.

This was the first book I read about wolves, when I was about 6. From this beginning, it started me on a life long love of reading stories about wolves and wildlife. I wish I still had my copy of this particular edition.
