Medieval Islamic Medicine di Peter E. Pormann
An excellent concise overview of medicine in the Middle East from about 600 to 1600 (with a slight look at later periods). A great resource which I plan to keep handy to look up names and titles of books in the future. It is fairly academic, but very accessible for people who do not know much about the history of the Middle East or the Middle Ages, with some useful lists of further readings on many topics and a thorough bibliography. Highly recommended introduction to the subject.
