Storylines: Your Map to Understanding the Bible di Andy Croft
Hoping this was aimed at a much younger audience than me! Patronising to say the least.
A good book to read when you find yourself in a desert place. A few lines: "When I came to the end of myself, I came to the beginning of God" ; "We find our voice when we find God in the desert" ; "If the Lord took away all our obstacles, problems, & pain, He would be making life easier for us than He did for the disciples. Indeed, He would be making life easier for us than for His own Son. Why on earth would he want to do that?"
The book is written by Mike Pilavachi, who started the Soul Survivor movement. The book borrows its title from Saint Francis of Assisi’s famous line.
I don’t think anything was “revolutionary” in the book for me, but it was a good opportunity to re-remember that Worship of our Creator is much more than an hour or two in any given week and that if we are who we say we are then our very lifestyle needs to be worship-full.
One thing that caught my attention was finding out how “clean” my local bank’s investments are - it’s something I haven’t done yet, but I am curious to know if my local bank invests my money in things that I would have a problem with myself.… (altro)
