Phumla

Nomi is a girl from Zulu who is treated cruelly by her stepmother and stepsister. Nomi is starved my her stepmother but a magical fish feeds her until the stepmother finds out and kills the fish. Its bones cannot be picked up by anyone but Nomi, who then marries the chief (the glass slipper of the story, who can pick up the bones). This story has some elements from the Chinese version of the Cinderella story.
