- He presented restoration sermons to over 60 congregations, delivered lectures on this theme to six colleges, wrote two books on the subject and traveled widely to the homes of restorers. A firm believer in Christian education, Phillips taught freshman Bible at Faulkner University (formerly Alabama Christian College) for seven years, and for 15 years he taught at Southern Christian University (formerly Alabama Christian School of Religion). He received an AA degree from David Lipscomb, BA from Middle Tennessee State University, MA from George Peabody College and a second MA from Harding Graduate School of Religion.
