A clearly written, compelling and jargon-fee view of Waldorf education through the eyes of one of the U.S.A’s most experienced Waldorf teachers. Through learning experiences that involve all the senses, children utilise a variety of intelligences to develop thought, feeling, and intentional, purposeful activity.

This book is a fantastic primer on the philosophy and practice of Waldorf Education. I often hear Waldorf mentioned in the same breath as Montessori, yet they are actually divergent methods of education. Waldorf's "head, heart, hands" core philosophy leads to the integration of the arts and crafts in the classroom and an eye toward developing a truly well-rounded individual. I am completely sold! I hope to send my future children to Waldorf schools.

A quick read that isn't really all that much about baseball. There are a few analogies here and there, but overall this is very accessible for non-baseball lovers. I even started to see why people love baseball from reading this book. Petrash gives good general advice for the three stages of parenting (active, emotional, and thoughful) and two chapters for single dads. Overall a nice read, but it left me wanting more. I may read more of his books on Waldorf education.
