Excellent moderate Puritan/Anglican reprint; smyth sewn in a cloth binding. Essential "high Calvinist" work on the ordo salutis and union with Christ for those interested in historical theology. Highly recommended.

If my memory serves me correctly this is one of if not the first textbook on homiletics in the history of English theology. Not much here in the area of structure and technique, but for a Biblical theology of preaching it is without peer. Perkins reminds the reader that true preaching is prophetic. The minister is not just expounding an ancient text he/ she is speaking for God. Must read for every novice preacher, and some veterans as well!
