Events at Columbine, Virginia Tech and Northern Illinois have prompted many institutions to change safety policies one many campuses. Campus violence is a concern for many students and faculty. There have also been recent reports of extreme bullying, hazing leading to death, and other aspects of campus life most, if not all, wish were never present in the academic setting. This book provides a research background for trends and their impacts on campus life. Additionally, chapters are devoted to helping students understand and avoid violence on campus.
