Breve biografia
Regina Pacelli is the author of three books, a psychological thriller, "Into the Arms of Madness", in which a newlywed's unusual obsession surfaces while on honeymoon, and two creative thinking activity books: "Outsmart the Unexpected: Grow Your Creativity the Edge-of-your-seat Way," a book of far-out dilemmas (in story form) you need to find a way out of, and "Whole Lotta Creativity Going On", a book of 60 fun and usual creativity boosting exercises.

I got the book for free at New York Comic Con, so I went into it completely blind. I didn't even realize it was the second book in a series until a couple pages in. Though there were some parts that confused me because of it (like Nathan somehow being able to attend an all-girls school), I was able to follow along well enough. I really enjoyed Ava's journey and her blossoming romance with Raven, as well as all it entailed.

I wish the world was fleshed out a bit more. Even though it was over 400 pages, there was still some things that were briefly touched upon (such as racism, prejudices, and misconceptions) that really should have been addressed, especially for a book that takes place in the early 1900s. There were several major revelations that went by way too fast, with almost no negative consequences that you would expect from the time period. There was also what seemed to be an important dinner that was brought up in the book and then never mentioned again which seemed odd, given how much time the book spent on everything else that occurred in that specific scene. However, the copy I received was an advanced reader's copy, it's entirely possible this was already addressed as the book was edited.

I liked it enough that I will give the first book a chance, and pick up the final copy of this book when it comes out.

Wonderful book to use for most anything, from kids activities to workplace strategic planning exercises - as an "analytic" type who would like to be able to access more of my creative side, I gained a lot from Regina Pacelli's awakening exercises! Thank you!

I received this as a free review copy. I tried a few of the exercises from different sections of the book. Some felt overly easy while others were brain stumpers that made me think and actually use my mind. The one on creativity in action caused my roommate to send me to my room to change my clothes, it still was fun and made me realize how stuck in a rut I've gotten, even with my wardrobe. This book did exactly as promised and made me stretch my creativity and knock a few walls off of my box.

Fast read if just reading and not 'doing'. I did most of the book except for some of the week long exercises. I'd say that most of these exercises probably will help those wanting creative blossoming of their written work. For those that are visually artistic I only found a few that I thought were helpful. I enjoyed making a song exercises the best as well as the pattern exercises. All in all, if you are in a rut this may help you.
