Pocket size Spanish-English dictionary. We bought this the day before a family trip to Mexico. This book has 40,000 words and phrases, and is a good size to carry along while traveling. It concentrates on the culture and usage of Spain (and Britain), so may be a little confusing in Mexico or other Latin American countries. Generally where words differ, both possibilities are given, for example camion is translated as truck, lorry. As with most dictionaries the challenge is in knowing which word to choose.

This dictionary is designed for Spanish students, and has some interesting special sections: "Test yourself with word games", a calendar of holidays, festivals and traditions (for Spain and other latin countries), A-Z of Spanish life and culture (political and cultural words and explanations, mostly for Spain but a few for other countries), letter-writing with examples, and a vocabulary list of "the Spanish words you must know". From our experience, this dictionary is quite useful for those who don't know Spanish, in conjunction with a tourist phrase book.… (altro)
