Jon Goodman is a regular geek at the world famous Megasoft located just outside Seattle (ring any bells?). The gazillionaire who founded and runs Megasoft is running for President of the United States and narrowly escapes assassination Two weeks later, Jon is leaving work at 1 a.m. (normal work day for geeks) when, in the company's parking garage, he witnesses one guy shooting another guy (not a normal viewing for a geek). He calls security and tells them to call police. They all descend and take his statement. He's shook. But, he's even more shook when the next day, there is no evidence that anything ever happened. And then things start to get even stranger. This is a crisply written, fast paced thriller with amazing credibility. The characters are very real and, even so, really interesting. It also provides excellent (and very true) insight into what it's like to work for a giant software company. The author ends the book with an afterward inviting you to send him e-mail and tell him what you thought. And, he answers!! There's also a web page for the book.… (altro)
