I bought this book, generally, because of my interest in the era, but specifically for its price on Amazon. I asked my spry 85-year-old grandmother to sit with me, to flip through the pages with me and offer personal commentary on the images we came across. She remembered the Olympic athletes who'd been stripped of their medals for raising their fists during the Star Spangled Banner. She remembered Bobby's death, and we reflected about how he'd aided the Lovings in their pursuit of marital rights. By the time we reached the final page, I felt the book was not an entirely comprehensive examination of the 60s, rather it was a catalyst for dialogue, and it left me with a memory I will cherish long after my grandmother is gone.… (altro)
