Clear the Bridge!: The War Patrols of the U.S.S. Tang di Richard O'Kane
I consider O'Kane as one of the better writers of submarine warfare. This was a very entertaining and informative book.

I remember a conversation with my mother 35+ years when I was in high school. I was extolling the virtues of fiction books over non-fiction. She explained that often non-fiction reading can provide better reading, adventure and detail. I was suspicious. However, years later, I found that Wahoo is one of those examples. An excellent book detailing the cruises and exploits of Mush Morton, Richard O'Kane and the USS Wahoo. The style of writing is captivating and keeps you on the edge of your seat. Kind of wished the book did not have to end. The follow-on book, Clear The Bridge!, about the Tang is also good. There are a number of good books dealing with US subs in the Pacific during WWII.
