This one is not, despite the title, 'simple.' It is overly wordy, and the 'recipes' are too often unclear, without pictures for intermediate steps. This does have some extra, helpful, information & photos about tools & supplies and how to use them - advice that is included in the Welford but not in as much depth.
This also includes a chapter about the history of flowers, one about artificial flowers, and one about growing flowers, as well as a bit more about how to make the flowers fit the space.
But this one is not as helpful to most of us, especially those of us without space for a garden. There are not nearly as many varieties of arrangements, there are no actual lessons or themes. And the attitude is more elitist. Her US florists are all in NY and CT, and she says stuff like When I'm in Paris, I always go to this shop." Well lucky you.
Do bear in mind that I cannot evaluate these relative to your position. There are *lots* of books like this available - I suggest you do your own, more thorough, research before choosing which one to actually buy.
I'm giving Welford's book one more star than I'm giving this, and that is (of these two) the one I'd be more likely to buy, and now, off I go to edit that review.
