Het groot Guinness record boek di Norris D. MacWhirter
De tweelingbroers Norris en Ross McWhirter publiceerden hun eerste verzameling wereldrecords in 1955. Het boek werd zo enthousiast ontvangen, dat het al spoedig een bijgewerkte herdruk beleefde - en tot op de dag van vandaag is het succes ongeëvenaard: 23 drukken! In de uitgave van november 1974 kon voor de eerste maal worden vermeld dat met een oplage van 23.950.000 exemplaren de beide auteurs de samenstellers waren geworden van het boek met de grootste oplage van alle commercieel gedistribueerde boeken in de gehele geschiedenis van de uitgeverij. En dat kan ook haast niet anders als men bedenkt dat nog steeds per week een verkoop wordt gehaald van meer dan 60.000 exemplaren in 14 talen.… (altro)
Just what it says, the 1988 version of the Guinness book of world records. All kinds of fun and weird things listed. Some of which I wouldn't do for money, much less to get my name in this book.
