This was a great book for me during my pregnancy. It's helpful and to the point. I love the detailed month by month. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is pregnant for the first time.

I just remember reading this some time in May and being honestly less than impressed with it. I'm honestly only adding it because I'm behind on my reading challenge and never added it when I actually read it.

There's much better out there, and I didn't appreciate the condescending tones present some of the time. Perhaps it was meant as reassuring. I was also annoyed by the author making sure to let you know it's called labor because it's hard work. Actually, labor isn't always about work. Mine wasn't until about 30 minutes of it. They said it was a mild discomfort (not in every case certainly) Labor isn't hard work, it's sometimes hard pain but there's nothing to be condescending about. The information is extremely dated and treats the pregnant woman as a medical condition and labor as an emergency waiting to happen. It's not at all helpful for the vast majority of pregnancies and deliveries which are normal and healthy. The only uses I can see for this book are as a giant doorstop or perhaps kindling.
