Leroy W. Newby

This is a very entertaining book. It also relates profoundly sad stories of airmen who gave the supreme sacrifice. It is written by a B24 bombardier and he tells his story from that viewpoint with enough 'big picture' to provide context. Probably the best first hand account of the European air war that I have run across.
