As a parent this book inspires me to live for, love and share the good things of life with my beautiful family. It also reminds me to focus on what my children can do and that it is my responsibility to help them reach their dreams.

Dick and Rick Hoyt are well known to anyone living in the Boston area. This Father/son duo can be seen running the Boston marathon almost every year, and are an inspiration to many. I bought this book at a AA baseball game, as they were there to throw out the first pitch. I have to say I didn't have high expectations for it, but I was pleasantly surprised. It is a powerful story of triumph and the love a man has for his son. Cerebral Palsy is an affliction that can trap a powerful mind in a broken body. Dick Hoyt knew that his son loved being active, so even though he had never run much more than a mile at one time, he began running with Rick. It all starts with a short race, that is difficult to finish. The story develops as Dick and Rick conquer race after race, including several Ironman events. these athletic feats and acts of love that are detailed in this book are amazing. I loved it.… (altro)
