Hounds of the Underworld di Dan Rabarts
Phew! Edge of the seat! I couldn't put this down! I dare you to see if you can. ;) I love a sister and brother team. I love that they are protective of each other and completely, off the charts, polar opposites. Or are they? Attention to detail, in different ways. Can't wait to get their hands dirty and solve the mystery but in different ways. Just because they are different doesn't mean it's wrong or that they don't love each other. They have the same goals.

Asian Ghost Short Stories (Gothic Fantasy) di Murray Lee
Asian Ghost Stories is a collection of short horror stories translated from some famous works all over Asia. I had hopes for the book, but somewhere it lacks the basic thing. The stories are translated from their original language and that is where the problem starts. The translation is not so good, due to which the essence of the story got lost. Although, some of the stories are really good, but, the other stories are totally disappointing.

I could only give 3 stars to the book. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me an opportunity to read and review the book.… (altro)

Asian Ghost Short Stories (Gothic Fantasy) di Dr. Luo Hui
This is a substantial collection of stories, with an often very different depiction of what a ghost is compared to the Western literature that has tended to dominate the theme. I mostly found them intriguing rather than scary, but overall I enjoyed it.

Grotesque Monster Stories
Aptly titled, these stories are full of monsters. Be they zombie, or humans who commit monstrous deeds. My favorite had people that became fused together. (Selfie) Don't expect much in the way of happy endings. These stories are quite dark and even an innocent boat ride can lead you to slaughter. Surprisingly, the stories that make it immediately apparent who the monster is, such as the child molester in "Dead End Town" can still lead you into a shocking direction and down a far darker path. The author has a talent for making the reader feel uneasy and uncomfortable, and isn't that what good horror is all about?
