It might be unfair to review this book, but I couldn't get more than a dozen pages in. Faulty writing, stilted and cliche diction, and overwrought tone do not make up for the relatively fresh subject (it's a gargoyle instead of a vampire! Wow!). If you are interested in fun, sexy paranormal stuff, there are many better options.

Five hundred years ago Marius Drakon (from Romania) and his family were cursed by a witch that made them gargoyles (they are stone in the daytime, a winged creature at night). This was done by the witch to avenge her cousin's death. The only way to break the curse is to kill the descendant of the witch---the heroine Alexandra Barret. So Marius volunteers to go to New York City to find her, and kill her. (He is only able to move about freely as a human in the daytime during the Spring Equinox, for 29 days, without turning to stone. Though he is still turning into a winged creature at night---very tall with wings, horns, fangs!) He moves into her apartment building, next door to her, and starts to get to know her, and discovers he can't kill her. He finds her innocent and sweet and he is falling for her. Marius desperately tries finding other ways to break the curse but he only has 29 days to do it and time is running out!

Wow, I really enjoyed this book! I loved the action and the romance. I've never read a story with a hero that was a gargoyle before. I liked Marius, he was caring and sexy. I liked Alexandra. She had some psychic ability, and she was trying to help locate a lost girl who was kidnapped. This was a really good, sexy, and exciting read!

When Daniela Ferreria accepts the comission to steal from the Drakon family little does she know what she's getting herself into. Nicholas is enjoying life as a not-gargoyle but something is not quite right, he's getting pains like those he had when he was transforming and he fears that something they did during the ceremony when the spell was broken may have invalidatated part of the breaking of the spell. He didn't need the distraction of Daniela. When her sister is stolen to encourage her to get her mission finished, they have to act and they have to discover strengths in each other to win.

I liked the story but it didn't seem polished and sometimes felt a bit rushed. It sometimes felt like the author had another idea that they had to add in but were unsure how to link them to the story. I am curious to know how the ability to change into a gargoyle again is going to change things, so I'm curious about the future with these characters but I'm not heavily invested in the world or the characters. Readable but not spectacular.

Not a bad read. Alexandra is a journalist who occasionally has visions, usually as a result of touching something involving the person. At the moment she's trying to sort out a child kidnapper case and she can feel that time is running out. Her new neighbour is distracting her, he's gorgeous. There are also stories of a strange winged creature in the skies.

The neighbour is in fact a gargoyle, cursed by one of her ancestors. His family is convinced that if they kill her, ending her line, they will break the curse, but not only is she distracted by him, he is finding her irrestible.

The romance is a bit rushed feeling, but elements of it did really work well. I liked the interaction and the fact that things were thought through, but I'm not sure that it wouldn't have been better if his mum had revealed more to everyone earlier.
