“Curiosity killed the cat” may be a well-known saying, but in this story’s case, it is actually the human who ends up in mortal danger. It just goes to show that sometimes, following where curiosity leads you is not the wisest choice. However, in this case, I definitely think it was an interesting one, and I cannot blame Aaron for doing what he did. As it turns out, the events that follow his impulsive decision to follow his boyfriend Tony to his mysterious family meetings end up becoming a nice variation of a werewolf story. Here the focus is not on the werewolf, but on the man discovering that these beings of myth and Hollywood drama are actually real.

Aaron feels pretty secure in his relationship with Tony. They have known each other for a year and a half, have lived together for the last year, and he thinks he knows Tony well enough to go on The Honeymoon Game and they’d win because he knew Tony that well. Ahem. Think again. His shock when he finds out Tony is a werewolf is deep, but he deals amazingly well with the entire situation. I guess there are some advantages to all the supernatural movies Hollywood has been producing… Except this pack has some very peculiar laws, and Aaron is given a choice I do not envy him at all.

Tony is in a difficult situation. He knows Aaron is his mate, but he wants to give the man time to get used to the idea that Tony is a werewolf, and to the consequences of Aaron being with him. Not that he has ever mentioned a single word of this to Aaron. I know it isn’t easy to tell your lover about a secret that may make him run for the hills, but, as we can see here, the consequences of not telling him can be far worse. Tony’s choice is a little easier, and he would have had to make it eventually— once he told Aaron the truth—anyway, but still.

If you like werewolf stories about the human men who find themselves loving a werewolf without knowing it, if tough choices for characters are your thing, and if you’re looking for a read that is entertaining, hot, and includes a few surprises, then you will probably like this short story.

With a vampire mythology that is inspired by a Greek legend, this is an interesting look at what happens when an unsuspecting human suddenly discovers that his boyfriend is not as human as he thought. Add the element of an evil vampire out for revenge, and the story gets just a touch more intense. The main element, however, is the sizzling attraction between Dillon and Liron—which is the one thing that both explains and puts into danger the evil guy’s plans.

Dillon is a happy bartender, who loves his job and his boss in almost equal measure. The only drawback is that he has yet to spend the night; Liron makes him go home even after a passionate encounter in bed. It gets to the point where Dillon is beginning to think something is wrong, and then all hell breaks loose.

Liron is in love for the first time in his long life, but he struggles with telling Dillon everything. He has a deep, dark secret, and he really wants to share it with Dillon, but he has no idea how to do it without scaring the love of his life. And when matters are taken out of his hand by an old enemy, Liron may be too late.

If you like vampire stories where love overcomes all obstacles, if two men who are deeply in love almost lose everything sound intriguing, and if you’re looking for a read that has a bit of back story but firmly focuses on the present, then you will probably like this hot short story.

This most recent volume in the “unusual boyfriend” series was a little different from the three first ones. Before, there was always a human who faced the fact his boyfriend was some sort of a supernatural or otherworldly being. In this story, there is Ethan, who is a cat shifter, meeting Peter, another cat shifter - except Peter’s cat is thought to be extinct. And since Peter is the last of his species, and his true mate is male, Mother Nature, or the god of shifters, or whoever is in charge, has to come up with some sort of solution not to let that happen. And, with all the magic bouncing round in shifter books anyway who is to say that is not possible? I certainly found it a very amusing idea which is executed in an entertaining way.

Ethan lives on his own for very good reasons, but he is lonely. So when he finds another cat shifter in his territory, one who is being hunted, he approaches with the intention to help. But when he discovers that Peter is the last surviving member of the saber tooth species, he is determined to keep him alive. That determination soon turns into admiration and more—but the hunter who is after Peter won’t give up. Not that this stops Ethan from wanting Peter with him.

Peter has been running all his life. So have his parents, grandparents, etc. For them it has become not just a way to survive, but a way of life. He feels the attraction to Ethan and wants to stay, but he is scared and has no idea how to make it happen. When nature intervenes and he becomes pregnant, much to his and Ethan’s shock, the game changes and Peter decides to learn some new skills. Like how to stand up for himself and his yet-to-be-born cub, and how to build a home with the cub’s other father..

If you like stories with straightforward plots, fun characters, and don’t mind a somewhat simplified and idiotic villain, if two cat shifters fighting for their life and needing to adjust their world view sounds like fun, and if you’re looking for a read that is entertaining, and hot at the same time, then you might like this short novella.

In this series of unusual, interesting, and sometimes strange boyfriends, this latest story is a pretty good fit in terms of being "out there". It reads like a normal contemporary tale until the unthinkable happens and the ghostly/paranormal aspect takes over. There is an unexpected twist, some very hot scenes between lovers Joseph and Tom, and an ending that made me sigh in relief.

Joseph and Tom are clearly in love, devoted to each other, and share their workplace (a construction company) as well as their spare time up in the mountains. They are both ambitious professionally, but very loving and supportive in their relationship. Joseph has just proposed when the unthinkable happens, and all he can think of is helping Tom when he vanishes. The ghostly phenomenon that guides him was very well written, and the storyline from that moment on felt as real as the beginning of the story.

If you like psychic phenomena that cannot be explained rationally, if you enjoy suspense and a main character who is under pressure, and if you're looking for an entertaining read with a real threat to the lovers' happiness, then you will probably enjoy this short story.
