The six stories featured in this graphic novel range from the entirety of Wash's life from a child to a rather speculative story about what might have happened had the tragic events in the 'Serenity' movie not taken place.

I'm a big Firefly fan, I rewatch the show and film yearly, and Wash is one of my favorite characters, so I really enjoyed this graphic novel. I think the idea of Wash watching his life flash before him and even entering into a speculative realm of what could have been is brilliant, touching, and sad.

Damn.

19th century post-apocalyptic action? A village of Japanese, Chinese, and Korean people has formed on a small island off the coast of Japan, refugees from a Great Wind that killed many of the people on the mainland. But now soldiers of a new shogun arrive demanding help fighting the bizarre zombie monsters that threaten to wipe out the shogunate and its citizens.

The main characters are a couple island kids who have been training to be warriors while building a highly competitive rivalry between themselves. Neither of them are particularly interesting, nor are the moral and political dilemmas they find themselves drawn into because of this new world order.

Everything is dark and sinister, but also exceedingly boring.… (altro)
