This book talks about what it is like to go through a bar mitzvah. This ceremony is only for boys. All of their family and friend come and the boy will read passages from Torah and the Bible aloud it front of everyone. After doing so you become a man! And everyone comes up and hugs and kisses you and you eat food and open presents.

This book was very informational. I always thought a bar mitzvah was something totally different! I liked how the author told the story from the boys perspective.

In the classroom I would use this book and teach the kids about Jewish tradition. I would have them pick a partner and have them take turns reading this book to each other.… (altro)
