This book provides the basics for landscape oil painting, including materials, composition, color, and techniques. It also includes helpful tips and alternate approaches. She then “demonstrates” the completion of several paintings by showing photos of the works in progress. One technique of specific interest is creating an abstract study prior to starting a painting. She also shows four methods to beginning an artwork. I found it helpful that she does not impose a “one-size-fits-all” approach, allowing for personal preferences and style. I found it a useful guide and plan to keep it on hand as a reference.… (altro)
