As always in the Counterpoint series, a variety of evangelical views are represented in this work. The only downside to this format is if you want in-depth information on a particular point of view or approach. In that case, you should go searching elsewhere. I think of this work as a collection of four brief statements in favour of a particular way of reading the Bible. This is then followed by responses to those initial statements. All in all though a good read, and a good overview of four ways of applying Scripture.

P.S. I should also mention that of the four primary authors three of them I know to be good interpreters of Scripture. They are: Walter Kaiser (author of many works related to the OT), Kevin Vanhoozer (He's authored a variety of works on interpretation methods. He utilizes an approach similar to NT Wright.), and William Webb (known for his work Slaves, Women & Homosexuals).… (altro)
