Audiobook-This really wasn't what I expected from this type of book. I expected dry facts, just the facts. What I got was stories of people who moved, the changes it brought, both mental and physical, and the Covid backlash. Changes from group activities vs alone activities, the differences were fascinating. Dancing, who knew what that did for us beyond the joy of the moment ? Once again it was fascinating. The stories tied in the science backed facts with real life people and experiences. A couple times it felt like rambling but that was only from a story that had little relation to me. I listened to this while I hiked everyday I hiked farther, enjoyed it more knowing what other benefits it offered me. Depression, oyi ! It really does push that beast out of you heart, thank the gods. I have been down for the last 3 years, deep depression brought on by isolation, lack of exercise and a feeling of hopelessness. Since starting this I've been getting my but up and moving, hiking, dancing, walking, sometimes just swaying with a beat, and I feel happier.
I enjoyed it, it was a nice change and I learned from it. What I learned from it stuck and motivated me.
Would I buy the book, no. One listen was enough.

I read so many business/psychology/self-help books where the examples seem really fluffy and anecdotal with no studies or evidence backing them up. Not so here.

I appreciated the different approach to stress, I've never heard of stress being good for you, or rather good ways to handle stress that don't just say to drop the thing that's stressing you out. Good stuff.… (altro)

Interesting book with a number of inspiring ideas. The only downside is I get inspired for a bit then forget to apply them. Going to try a few of them again...
