Pretty much what you'd expect from a mass-market medical romance.

Abbey and Nick get on well as colleagues and they obviously have the hots for each other, but throughout the book Nick would make a comment or ask a question and Abbey would interpret that as a question of her authority. It was really weird, random, confusing and did nothing to move the plot forward.
